Office of the Prime Minister, Cook Islands
The Office of the Prime Minster of the Cook Islands is responsible for setting the Renewable Energy Roadmap for the country. This plan outlines the strategic initiatives to use locally generated renewable energy from Solar, Wind and Hydro to displace the current dependency on fossil fuels such as diesel. The Cook Islands is a leader in renewable vision and actual use of solar energy to power their nation – currently 6% of generation and growing.
To demonstrate their commitment to clean energy in small building blocks, the OPM used four NZ designed and manufactured Enasolar inverters to create a 16kW array on the roof of the Prime Minister’s office. A PicoGrid monitoring and display units were installed to capture the live data from the 4 inverters, and visualize the solar generation both on the web and on two 40-inch LCD monitors.
